Well Bedrest is fun fun

We went into the hospital Jan 28Th due to gushing of fluids. After hours of testing we get admitted for the night. After many tests and Dr's evaluations the consensus is we go home and stick it out until we are 24 weeks. We do know that Baby A is a boy and dad wants to name you Jerry Jr I might be able to persuade him to giving you your own name but we will see. Baby B is a girl Sophia Diane, how exciting for us a boy and a girl.

Bed rest is boring but so worth it. Resting most of the time, when the family lets me, I get to feel you guys squiggling, like now. Every kick, nudge, and roll is a precious gift from both of you.

Jerry Jr's sac has ruptured causing us to worry and panic. Modified bed rest seems to be the ticket to less leaking. His fluids are above 2cm which under 2cm is low. His level is not much above 2cm but we will take that. God has given us a miracle keeping him in there this long.

On the 23rd we are having a 2 hour long ultrasound to examine the entire uterus and both babies. At this time if I test positive for PROM we will be admitted to the hospital until 34 weeks and then deliver my angels.

The thing that keeps us going the most is the love of Jesus it is all that counts in this world. We have so many friends and family filled with that love that is helping us in our time of need. Jesus love has been revealed over and over and I realized that is all that I need and I can not expect love from places that I thought I could. Relying on Jesus is the best thing I can do for us.

I love you babies with everything I have and I am doing the best I can for you to keep calm and grow you as big as I can so you can live a long healthy life, God willing.

Scary it was this past Friday

I was on the phone with my Madison Drs Nurse to schedule a 4d ultrasound when the gushing began. She told me to get to the Dr immediately. I called my Portage Dr who said you are more than likely going to lose one if not both babies, go to Meriter. He also accepted my due date of 6/20, YAY we KNOW the day of conception, no questions asked. It is an answer to a prayer as that gives me 9 more days to our advantage for helping these babies. Got on the road to Madison, still gushing, get into OB TRIAGE due to adjusted due date!!! They do several swab tests; ferning for amniotic fluid comes back spotty.

Explaining this, when you rupture your bag of waters the swab when wiped on a microscope slide ferns, meaning it frosts over, well mine is only doing this in spots due to the blood mixed in, not the entire slide. The Dr's kept saying that urine can fern too, my response "you are taking the fluid off my cervix urine cannot be up there".

I am still gushing and filling chucks and pads. We do an ultrasound to check on the babies, finally, there they are wiggling away. Baby A' was just perfect, Baby B's fluid was low but still perfect. Heart beats are great no distress for them. Praise the LORD!!

They do another ferning slide; mind you this is not comfortable. They move me to a bigger triage room to wait to do yet another fern slide due to still being so spotty. Yay we get to order dinner, I am starving.

The Dr then comes in with the most dismal of news, he states that due to my previa (which I had the last visit 2 weeks ago) and the gushing of fluids that is looking like a rupture of membranes we might have to terminate the pregnancy for my safety and health.

You know me as soon as he walked out I asked the nurse can I tell him NO?? The babies looked fine on the ultrasound, both hearts beating, full of life. She said yes and they would have to keep me and just watch us closely.

Dr comes back and said due to the spotty ferning we are keeping you, and will test again, this is at 8:45 he had just done the last slide, I was still gushing and he even said as he was getting his sample off my cervix it is really pooling in here and I just don't understand. They also got my ultrasound results from Portage and my previa is GONE!! That means no more talk of terminating going on here wooohooo Glory to God!!!

I get into my room right about 10pm and guess what the gushing literally just stopped. I have had gauze pads there to catch any fluid since 9pm and nothing, they wanted to take the pads and squeeze them onto a slide and look again but I just could not perform heehee.
I know that Jesus healed the leak, by morning Baby B's fluid was greater than Baby A's God is GREAT and Greatly to be PRAISED!!!!

Baby A weighs200 grams or 7 ozs heart rate 150 fluid level in the pocket 2.5.

Baby B weighs 220 grams 8 ozs heart rate 140 fluid level 3.3 in the pocket.

My blood clot is a 3 x 2 from a front view however they really do not know how big it is behind the placenta. The blood clot is the reason for the placenta previa being gone, it has lifted the placenta off my cervix. It is insane how a problem resolved a different problem.

Since they could not get a clear ferning slide they are saying I did not rupture my bag of waters and that possibly it could be my blood clot liquefying and draining. However I know I was leaking fluid or their would not have been any ferning, as urine is not up on my cervix. It seems to me that if you are not 23 weeks 5 days they will excuse everything, tell you there is nothing they can do and send you home. It is sad that they do not try their hardest to save a baby's life.

Thank you for all your prayers I took a verbal beating from every Dr that walked in my room Friday night and Saturday morning telling me that until I hit 23 weeks 5 days, exactly 4 weeks from today (Sat) they will not help keep the babies alive. The Good news is that if I do loose the fluids again, they have a good chance for survival after then. Their lungs have had a chance to develop enough already PRAISE GOD!!

In 4 weeks if this happens again I am hospital bound until delivery or 34 weeks.
Keep us in your prayers we have 4 weeks to get to the first big milestone and then 10 weeks after that.

Our expanding family

Yes it is expanding again. I am 15 weeks pregnant with Twins. It is a surreal feeling and experience already. I do not know how I feel with the bleeding and migraines I guess I would say I feel worried and frustrated. In some ways I just really wanted to have a normal problem free pregnancy. Instead I am pregnant with twins, have bleeding, had nausea for many weeks, and now migraines. I am doing all I can to feel happy and get through this positively no matter how hard it gets. I am following Dr.s orders the best I can, being a full time mom to 6 kids at home can be a bit trying. I feel obligated to keep it all running smooth. With Jerry's own issues mental and physical it is up to me to keep it going. He does help with the kids, he plays music, watches movies, etc.. but there is a lot more to running a home besides the fun stuff. Cleaning, cooking, laundry, cleaning, individual attention, homework, and kids attempting to be their own person. It is tough and I know God will provide a way.
January 17th we are having another ultrasound. I hope they will have more info on the babies as far as identical or fraternal and maybe a peek of the gender.
Sending our love and blessings,
Susan

I know I know

that I should be blogging more....
Here goes, the kids all have taken turns getting sick and generously sharing with both Jerry and I. He of course does not have a virus, it could not be a virus, it is much worse, HA. Lovin him even though he is a little melodramatic heehee. We went for his 2nd opinion and the verdict is an open MRI in Madison on the knees to see if he has some tears. They will do a laser surgery but no other surgery is an option until he successfully completes a medical weight loss treatment and sees a Vascular Dr for his lymphodema. The Dr said there is no way any Dr would cut him open in his current state. We need to turn his health around here first then they can help with the rest of his leg stuff.

Bethany amazingly enough standing for a few seconds on her own, sitting down from standing, has 2 teeth, for over 2 weeks, they are the 2nd teeth not the two front ones, it is hilarious to see her toothy grin. She is working on 4 more. She loves her daddy a bunch, she will go to his door and whine and knock, it is adorably funny! She loves us all but April has a special spot in her heart, she wants her or mommy. If April could breastfed I would be chopped liver LOL. She hates her car seat, getting dressed and diaper changes, she wants to be FREE!

The rest of the kids are doing great! I am so proud of them, even though they probably think I just want them to go away. I just really want some kind of peace around here. When I say to do something JUST DO IT, LOL. Please do not tell me you did it for me to go check and it NOT be done, argh! They are great, loving children that need to understand that the family will not operate with out them all putting in their help as well as ours.

Hailey is one out of 4 1st graders in the FAB 40, that is awesome! She also is the only one out of 5 this year that has done it in our home. She has read over 40 non fiction articles or stories on health, heart, mind, or body. Way to Go!

I am starting Love and Logic next week, pray that I actually apply what I learn, like I said I WANT peace.

Jerry and I have been going to church for Sunday school together the past 3 weeks! We are attending the Fireproofing your marriage sessions. We have been late every week but not because we are not trying to get there LOL. This week is the week to be there on time!

The children and I are also reading through the bible this year, they seem to love it! We are reading about Joesph and his brothers in Matthew, also reading in Genesis, Acts, and Psalms. We have almost got all of January's done, just got to read a couple this weekend woooohooo! I am so excited for us!

April turned 12 this past Friday, it was a wonderful party we surprised her good! She even stopped me the next day and said Mom thanks for the best party ever! AWE!

Going to turn in, I will keep updating more as I can think about it, LOL

Oh I know Monday this past week, Annabelle was jumping on Jerry's bed, hit the corner and had to get her head glued shut, that child is going to be the one that does me in from panic!

God Bless you all, until next time!
Susan

Diapers, vomit, hives, cookies, fundraisers, and more

Hello all,
We have had a doosey of a time these past weeks. Between diapers, fundraisers and viruses we have been busy! The children have had this horrible virus that takes over thier throats and then makes them vomit, how awful is that? Now we have hives all over head to toe. The Dr's at first blamed medicine but since the baby never got any it is the virus for sure! Then we have had to sell Pizza slips and deliver Girl Scout cookies, never a dull moment. Today I got a baking bug up my end tail and we made over 300 hundred cookies today! It was fun but now I am exhausted. Just wanted to make a quick post on why we have been MIA!.

Take Care and stay healthy!
